Twinkle, twinkle… a much beloved lullaby gets a revival (not that it needs one) with this clever book, published by Applesauce Press. The words are simply those of the song, spread out among four two-page spreads, while the illustrations on each page are drawings that follow a little boy from playtime to bedtime. What makes this book fun is the twirling, sparkling star for little ones to spin with each page.
“Twinkle, twinkle, little star, How I wonder what you are!”
The book is cleverly constructed with cut-outs so that the star is visible always, and it even spins itself as each page is turned. The final page contains five additional spinning stars, which will no doubt entertain young readers, especially the littlest ones in the family. Chances are good that parents will be singing this song to their kids anyway; why not get a fun book to make it even more magical? This would be a great present for new parents or for a child’s first or second birthday.
