Description
The Mongol Empire was one of the most disruptive empires across Asia and Eastern Europe. The impacts from their invasions, or attempted invasions, had a major impact on the development of many cultures and empires worldwide. One of the major improvements was the development of naval warfare, and this book explores the life of Kublai Khan, who helped China conquer the seas.
The Mongol Empire was often viewed as feuding warlords who wanted to fight to prove their worth to each other. There were many dynastic battles between heirs after the death of a great warrior, and the death of Genghis Khan, father of Kublai, was no exception. Kublai eventually came out on top of feuds, fights, and more to run the Mongol Empire at its height, when it stretched from China into Eastern Europe and everything in between.
Sadly, this book is probably not the greatest telling of this story. There is a lot of names and titles to keep track, especially in the original language, and readers can become trapped in a soup of letters and words leading them to not enjoy reading this book.
