A zorse – half horse, half zebra – is running wild in traffic. A girl feeds him carrot cookies and he calms down. The cookies were for the girl’s father’s baking company. So the owner of the zorse offers to explain what happens to the cookies. The zorse’s owner, the girl, and a boy find some kittens in a dumpster. Other pets are going missing as well and the three of them decide to try to find out what is happening with all the pets. This is how the Curious Cat Spy Club forms.
“I thought Zed would be roadkill!”
The Curious Cat Spy Club by Linda Joy Singleton mixes love for animals, mystery, and friendship together into a really interesting story. The characters of the three members of the Spy Club are pretty well developed and so their actions make sense. The mystery takes a normal course through the book and it does not take any sudden detours or need a big change in order to be solved.
This is the first book in what is planned to be a series revolving around these three friends and their club. If you like animals and light mysteries, you will like these characters and these stories and look forward to the next book in the series.
