I don’t really understand this book, Bluffton: My Summers with Buster Keaton by Matt Phelan. I can see the pictures but it really doesn’t make any sense at all – it makes so little sense I can’t even figure out what it is supposed to mean. It is just a story about a boy who meets another boy who is an actor in a show, and the boy who is the actor never gets hurt. The people in the show use that. What happens is that there is a boy who meets another boy and they start to become friends.

“The Keatons had started calling their cabin Jingles’ Jungles because of Buster’s brother’s toys being everywhere. The cabin was sparse, no indoor plumbing or anything, but Buster loved it.”

They have fun for the whole summer. But the next summer, the first boy doesn’t find the second boy, so for most of the second summer, they don’t play. Then the third summer, the second boy is gone the whole summer because he was taken off the show, because some government officials said they couldn’t have him in the show if he was being mistreated. That is pretty much the end of the story, except the first boy learns to juggle, and builds his own theater. If you want to know more about it than that, you have to read the book yourself. I think the point of the story is –no, forget it. I don’t know.
