If your house, office, or school supplies need a pop of color and a dash of flavor Twinkie Chan’s Crocheted Abode A La Mode is the book for you. From a banana split throw pillow to ice cream cone shower mitts to a TV dinner tablet cozy, Twinkie Chan’s patterns will liven up all the rooms of your house and your office space, and may just make you hungry. Most of the patterns in this book are simple, easy to follow and well written. The patterns include diagrams and pictures to help if you get stuck or if there is a tricky stitch that needs to be done. Most patterns are done using a single or double crochet but do work in the round and some have a lot of pieces which can be tricky for entry level crocheters.

“You won’t find a single granny afghan or lace doily in this book, but you will find ottomans shaped like donuts, aprons that look like honey bears, and the biggest, squishiest, yummiest banana split throw pillow you’ve ever seen.”

A determined beginner should be fine following along but a Novice would find it easier. This book does include some nifty tricks for the experienced crocheters that they might not have seen before. All in all these patterns are fun to work; the pictures are colorful and the patterns are well written and you can’t ask for much more than that.
