This book continues the story of twin teens Alex and Connor in the Land of Stories, where fairy tales are real. This time they have to fight the Grand Armée to keep them from taking over the fairy tale world. At the same time, Alex (a girl) is in training to become the next Fairy Godmother after the present Fairy Godmother dies. The Land of Stories: A Grimm Warning by Chris Colfer is an adventurous tale that includes fairy tale characters.

“Your people might have more faith in you than you have in them,” Alex said. “Just believe in them as much as they’ve always believed in you.”

The story has magic, a lot of fighting, a dragon, the Fairy Godmother, and characters like Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, and Mother Goose. The author blends all of these different parts together really well and the story flows well. Even though there are so many characters, the story is not confusing. The book is suspenseful and keeps you reading to find out what happens next. Although it includes fairy tale elements, it is intended for a tween reader. It would help you to understand the book and characters better if you have read the earlier books in this series, but it is not necessary. If you like fantasy and fairy tales, this would be a nice quick read for you.
